Lifts for people with disabilities – Integrated systems
Integrated systems for automatic access to and from the ward with automatic shaft-chamber doors, audible arrival signals, floor announcements, special braille – touch screen buttons, intercom systems without wired connection to the provider’s telephone line – use of GSM connection, handrail buttons for easy access, etc.
Elevators for people with disabilities – Detailed Features
- In each lift there is a telephone set at a height of 1.05 m to 1.30 m and 0.40 m from the door, which is connected to the telecommunication network and programmed to communicate with the lift maintenance manager and/or the police and/or the fire brigade.
- The control hubs shall have audible, embossed and visual signage
- The entrance/exit to the lift car is accessible to disabled persons
- The lift entrance door shall have a minimum clear opening of 0,80 m.
- The lift shall have a net internal chamber dimension of at least 1,40 m. length and 1,10 width
- When the building concerns an in-patient area (clinic), the net internal dimensions of the lift cabin are at least 2.20 m long and 1.10 m wide
Instruction: the entrance to the lift should always be on the small side 1,10 to allow the wheelchair to have enough depth.
